A New Season…
Read:
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV): “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come”.
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Worship our Lord, declaring His glory and the magnificent work of His hands. When last did you look around at all that our LORD is doing in nature and in humanity? He is making all things new! May our surroundings remind us that Our God is one of detail, from the colours of a flower, to the workings of our human bodies. He tells us in Psalm 139:14 that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made”. We cannot see, smell, or touch the flowers without His Divine touch upon our lives. May we realise that we are a new creation, transformed like a caterpillar into a butterfly, when we trust in Jesus for our salvation.
Embrace the pruning that comes with new seasons. Pruning is hard. But pruning produces more fruit. We cannot do anything in ourselves, just as a branch cannot produce fruit if it’s not abiding in the vine. May we remain in the love of our Father. Jesus told us in John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing”. May we remain in Jesus so that the fruit from our lives will bring forth joy, healing, peace, and hope – not only to us but to everyone around us.
Always remember the importance of being still in the Lord. Let’s seek ‘stillness’ in our everyday lives, knowing that with God, we can do our tasks little by little, unrushed, and with a Spirit of discernment. Let us allow God to fill us afresh with His light in our stillness before Him. This light releases hope and life in us, making us a beacon for others to recognise and acknowledge Jesus; and for the nations to find healing and salvation. May we always remember that Jesus is with us, and His light will lead us forward.
Pray:
Lord, I thank You that Your Holy Spirit is the original pioneer, that You go before us. I thank You that You are at work, Lord. I thank You that when we pray, You hear us, and our prayers are powerful. As much as I pray for our own protection, our own health, our own sense of relationship with You, I also ask that we would sense Your Spirit, that we would feel Your Spirit, that we would sense Your guidance. We pray for those who don’t know You, that You would soften their hearts, and that You would make a way to use us as vessels. Even if it’s as simple as a prayer every now and then, I pray that You would use us Lord God. Thank You Jesus, for who You are and what You continue to do for us.
Father, I want to thank You for Your Word. Your Word brings life to our lives. We don’t want to be only hearers of Your Word; we want to be doers. So, teach us! When difficult times come, teach us to remain in Your joy, to walk in Your love, and to know that You understand exactly what we are going through. Thank You that pruning brings forth fruit; and that we can bear fruit that will bring healing to other people. I pray that every one of us will be obedient to what You tell us to do, Father. I just want to bless everyone in the name of Yeshua, that we will walk in Your love, in Your peace, in Your joy. We want to thank You for who You are. Thank You, Abba. We don’t understand how it works – You in us and us in You. But we know it works because we can see the fruit in our lives wherever we go. Messiah Adonai, Yeshua Messiah.
Abba Father, King of the universe, Creator God, thank You that we can call You our Father. But we come with heavy hearts amid this silly season – we come, and we lay everything at Your feet. Help us to stop fighting, help us to be quiet, help us to let loose – to let go. Help us to relax, help us to stop bothering with battles You did not mean for us. Help us to actively remind ourselves daily that You are a great God and that You are also a good Father. Thank You that You are more than enough for what we need in this season. Would You bless us so that we do not experience anxiety – but the joy that only comes from the Holy Spirit within this season? Thank You that You have loved us first, and that is why we are able to love. Father, we love You.
Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus. Lord, I don’t have many words left, but You know our hearts. You know what each of us is going through in our little bit of darkness, whether it’s a little or a lot. Lord, I would like You to reach into our hearts, to power us up despite whatever is causing our lights to be dim, and to absolutely recharge us to shine brightly. We thank You Lord, and we love You, our Energy Source, and our Power. Without You, we are nothing, so fill us with Your light so that we can shine it out to others. I pray this in the wonderful, precious name of Jesus.
Lord, we thank you for the examples you place before our eyes that remind us of Your love and saving power. They are amazing reminders of our salvation. Lord, we would be remiss if we let this moment pass for any listener who might not know personally of Your saving power. If there is anyone hearing this prayer, who has never asked You personally to forgive their sins and be their Saviour, may they do that at this very moment? May this be their time of metamorphosis! At this very moment, may they surrender their earthly lives and eternal lives to You, knowing that just as the caterpillar transforms into the butterfly, they are made new! We thank You for Your promise of new life! May we never take Your earthly examples, or our change of heart, for granted. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
Amen.
