Pressing On…
Read:
Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV): “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”.
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Remember that the past is dealt with. The future is in God’s hands. The present is our responsibility in and through the power and strength of the Holy Spirit.
Be open before our Lord. God knows everything, yet it is essential for us to present our lives before Him, asking Him to examine our hearts and show us any areas that are not aligned with His will and calling on our lives.
Allow God to redeem us and show us His mercy, love and grace. No matter what we face, may we find comfort in knowing that God is there to help us, lead us and guide us. He will rectify our wrongs and place us back on His path for our lives.
Always obey our Lord. Our obedience to God indicates our love for God. To know whether we obey God, we need to spend adequate time with Him and in His Word.
Choose wisely whom we interact and associate ourselves with. Whose voices are we allowing to speak truth and hope into our lives? It’s imperative to surround ourselves with Kingdom-builders as we do life together towards one goal – to spread the Good News everywhere we go.
Continuously praise and worship our Lord in all circumstances and in both public and private settings. Praise and worship usher us into the presence of God. Through praise and worship, we acknowledge that God is almighty, sovereign, eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, the great I AM, and exalted overall. Praise and worship is our gift back to our Lord.
Pray:
Father, we praise You for Your faithfulness in every season. Your steadfast character stretches from everlasting to everlasting, and there is no shadow of turning with You. Thank You that You are still on the throne and that You are always in control of our past, present and future. We admit that we often cling to the broken bitterness of our past. We fill our present with thoughts of fear, worry, and anxiety. We doubt your ability to remain faithful in our future. Please help us remember that our past has been dealt with on the cross. Our present is an opportunity for obedience, and our future is none of our business. We fix our eyes on Your faithfulness and stand firm on Your promises.
Our wonderful heavenly Father, we thank You that we may come before Your throne and reveal ourselves to You and ask You to show us what is wrong. Reveal to us who we should not associate with anymore. Will You give us the strength and wisdom to continue to obey You, trust in You, and especially rejoice in You.
Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus. Father, we ask that You open doors for us to spread the Good News of Jesus. We ask Lord that You keep Your hand of protection over us and give us the opportunity to witness.
Thank You Lord that we know Your truth sets us free. If we walk with You in that truth, we will walk in the freedom that You have given us on the cross. Thank You, precious Jesus, for shedding Your blood for us, redeeming us, and saving us from ourselves – so that we can be in right standing with You, our creator, God of the universe. Thank You that we can call on You, that You are ready to take our hand and help us to hold fast to Your truth and who we are in You.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Amen.
