Being wise, being salt, being light…

Proverbs 1:7 (AMP): “The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skilful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline”.

Let us be determined this week to:

Let’s ask God for wisdom and a reverential fear of His sovereignty. May we pray today: “Lord, instil your Wisdom in my heart, give me good discernment in all areas of my life. Give me knowledge and understanding regarding how to apply Your Biblical principles, order and discipline to my life. And as I stand in grand, sublime, extreme awe of You, please give me insight and help me to grow in wisdom, hope, happiness, peace, love and forgiveness – being sanctified by Your Truth.…”

Let’s ask God to fill us afresh with His Spirit, so that we can be salt and light to the world around us. May we pray today: “Jesus, fill us with Your compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, forgiveness and patience so that we can be salt (peace) to the world around us… Living through love in unity… Connecting and encouraging others with kind words of affirmation… Demonstrating limitless love, forgiveness and peace… Planting seeds of hope as we shine our light and shower Godly flavour wherever we go!”

Father God, I just thank You that we can gather from all the corners of the globe, to speak about You, and to hear from You. Thank You Jesus, that You give wisdom freely as a gift so that we can be intimate with You. I pray that we would seek Your wisdom and know that it’s truly from You Lord God. I pray in all we are thinking about or deciding on, or in whatever is happening in our lives, that You would give each and every single person wisdom.

Jesus Christ, thank You that You are the light, and that You are order, and that You bring order. Thank You that we as Christians can do what You show us to bring order in our own lives. Help us to access hope by bringing order. Help us to bring Your hope to our families and other people by restoring order our lives.

O dear Father, we thank You, and we stand before You with awe and admiration and worship. We ask You to teach us the fear of the Lord, so that we can continue to be sanctified, and to grow in Your peace. We can learn so much from You. Not only because You bless us but because You are God and we have no words to describe Your beauty. We ask You to teach us the fear of the Lord.

I thank You God that You say we are salt and light. We know that we are to be the peace carriers. We need to forgive, we need to reconcile, and we need to demonstrate friendship. So Father, I pray that this will come to pass in our lives, that we can be salt.

Lord, as we come together in unity today across the world with our heads bowed and our hearts full of love, help us to share the Good News with others, and to love as You love us! May we honour You Lord by standing united, by being thankful for everything good and bad. May we be an example to all, that we too may have eternal life by accepting You as Lord and Saviour. Lord, thank You for Your unfailing love and compassion to us, Your children. Lord, continue to guide our paths. Protect Your children as they stand for You and share the Good News. May the Holy Spirit increase each seed planted for You Lord! Amen.
