Hope, patience and prayer…

Read:

Romans 12:12 (CJB): “Rejoice in your hope, be patient in your troubles, and continue steadfastly in prayer”.

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Remain thankful. Our thoughts are powerful – they determine the direction of our lives… It is so reassuring to remember that Jesus is present with us – to help and lead us to live victorious lives. God’s love endures forever, He is faithful. May we choose gratitude and trust even when our minds are challenged by worrying or anxious thoughts… and even when we are in waiting seasons or feel far from God. May we profess God’s promises over our problems… over our waiting… over our plans… and over our future… May we never give up. Our God is always with us.

Be bold in our prayer-lives. May we align our thoughts with the mind of God. May we humble ourselves before Him, trusting that He hears and answers our prayers. May we always be ready and willing to pray for others. May we pray bold prayers – prayers that will save others; prayers that will impact the world around us; prayers that will transform lives and glorify our Father in heaven.

Go back to God’s Word as our strong foundation, our trustworthy guide, and our source of peace, joy, love and eternal hope. God’s Word is alive and active. It is powerful. It is the truth that sets us free and the lamp that lights our path. However busy or upside-down our lives may seem, we can find rest and hope in God’s Word. May we memorise scripture and store it in our hearts – because what’s in our hearts, flows out into our lives.

Pray:

Father God, thank You that You care about us. Thank You that You want us as Your children to cast all our worries on You. You are good and Your love endures forever, and we can never be separated from Your love. Thank You for Your perfect will. We pray in these uncertain times for Your will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven. Guide us through Your Spirit and give us wisdom and discernment when we are faced with moments of worry. Help us to remain thankful in these moments.

Lord, we stand united in prayer today, asking that You help us to not become impatient in our waiting season. Help us faithfully keep waiting on You, knowing that You’ll never disappoint us. Lord thank You, that You are who You say You are, and that You will always be true to Your promises. Sometimes in our waiting seasons, we get discouraged because we feel alone. We feel that maybe You’ve missed our prayers or overlooked us. But that’s a lie Lord, as we know that You are in every detail of our life.

God of all grace it is my prayer that You will move in our heart as a community – so that we will continue to direct our prayers boldly and courageously for those around us. We won’t focus only on ourselves, but will pray that You touch the lives of those that You call our neighbour.

O, Father God we thank You that You are our Abba Father. I ask that You help each one of us to be more ready than ever before to pray as You want us to pray. Help us to remember to pray without ceasing. Help us to remember that we don’t need to know all the circumstance in that person’s life, because You do. We thank You for that, that You take control over those things.

Father, we just want to worship You for who You are. Thank You for Your Word that transforms our lives and our worried minds. Jesus, thank You that You are our 100% guarantee despite anything we face this side of heaven. Thank You, that You are our Saviour – the One who carries us. You are far more able than we can ask for or imagine. Thank you that You restore joy in our hearts and You fill us with Your light and love. Help us to pray boldly for others. Help us to give thanks in all circumstances. Thank You for Your Word. Thank you that through prayer we can come into Your presence. All glory to You! Amen.

Amen.
