Remaining faithful…
Read:
Jude 1:24-25 (NIV): “To him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you before his glorious presence without fault, and with great joy — to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Understand that we have the power of choice. We can choose faith over fear; life over death; winning over defeat; optimist over pessimism; and trust over worry and anxiety. We can draw closer to God or pull away; we can grow in our faith and our walk with Jesus or live without intention; we can put God first or allow our hurried, distracted lives to control us. May we remember that when we choose to focus our vision and our lives on Jesus’ example, everything changes… That is how we grow in faith and hope; as we trust our loving, caring, grace-filled Father God.
We find our way and the Truth in life by studying and applying God’s Word. May we choose righteousness, humility, selflessness and love as we reflect God’s light through our lives! May we become more and more like Jesus as we show compassion, love, forgiveness and kindness to those around us.
Remember life is all about and through Jesus. God so loved us, that He sent His son to save us! Because of Jesus, and our relationship with Him – we have everything we need to live Godly, Christ-like, Holy Spirit inspired lives. May we be committed to Christ; and act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our Lord. May we overflow with God’s love, joy and peace to benefit those around us. May we, when we get to heaven hear: “Well done, My servant! You have been good and faithful…” (Matthew 25:23).
May the prayer of our hearts today be: Father, may Your joy, peace, love and kindness radiate through our lives, as we glorify You in all we do! May Your light in our hearts shine so brightly that those around us will rejoice in Your love forever.
Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for an opportunity – for a moment to consider what You have to say to us. We realise that You love us as a Father, and You want to see us grow and develop as a child grows and develops. We are always able to bargain on the love and the support of our Father. We understand that there is also this requirement that we continue to grow and become more and more like You, our Heavenly Father.
Father I pray that our faith will increase, even if it starts as small as a mustard seed. That’s all You ask of us Lord Jesus, and I don’t think that it is too much to ask – how small a mustard seed is Father! I pray that today, we would change our mindsets – to not live in fear Lord, even though it’s hard to do sometimes. I bring every person listening before You; and I ask that Your Holy Spirit enables them to live a faithful life and not a fearful life anymore.
Lord I thank You for the phenomenal literary work that is the Bible. Lord, as we dig deeper into Your Word, I thank You that we will find so many amazing things about Your character and the way that you love us. I pray that as we spend time in Your Word and as we spend time together in prayer, that we wouldn’t become closed off from the outside world. Instead, may we remember that to show people a right relationship with You, we should be active in a world that’s hurting and fallen. The world we live in at the moment is crazy, Lord. We thank You that in all of this we have a solid rock – a solid foundation – and we know where our hope comes from.
Lord, may we never ever forget that ‘Great is the cross.’ You made the ultimate sacrifice, so that we might be forgiven. Lord, that gives us great contentment, to the core of our being. May we each truly have a greater commitment to serve you well in our daily lives. We know Lord Jesus, that You risk your reputation on each of us. Keep us faithful to represent You well to the world around us. May others want what we have – a personal relationship with You that gives us purpose, and the promise of eternity with You. Grant us, Lord, the opportunity to share what we have, and the boldness to share it. May we contend for the faith, snatching the lost from the fire with Your truth.
Amen.
