Rooted and Grounded in Jesus!
Read:
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ESV): “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit”.
Act:
Let us be determined this week to be:
Prayer warriors. The storms that arise in our lives give us a window into what our faith is founded upon. We have the source of TRUTH on our side! May we intentionally draw closer to God every day, spending time in His Word, repenting of our sins, and worshipping Him in all we do. Let’s choose to be in a posture of prayer continuously!
Peacemakers. A worldly perspective on the circumstances of our lives can leave us feeling defeated, hurt or overcome! Let us rather ask our Heavenly Father to lead us and give us His peace, wisdom, and power to respond in a Godly manner – having our hearts filled with His joy, love and hope!
Faith-filled, hope-infused believers. James 4:8 says: “Come near to God and He will come near to you”. May we listen for God’s direction and will for our lives. May we stand firm on God’s promises, knowing that He is faithful. May we extend our roots deep, into the fertile ground of who God is. May we build upon our firm foundation – Jesus – and radiate His beauty, light and hope to all around us!
Pray:
Oh God, I just want to stand on Your Word today. As it says in Proverbs, let us trust in You with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding. We are submitting all our ways to You and we know that you will make our paths straight. So help us in our unbelief. We know that if we just touch Your hem, we will be healed.
Lord, thank You for Your gift of peace. Father, if we are running on empty, please fill us afresh with Your Spirit, so that we may be the peacemakers You have called and created us to be. As we face adversities and difficulties, help us to be loving, kind and compassionate, just like Jesus.
Thank You Lord for opening our spiritual eyes and ears so that we can see and hear Your communication with us. We stand on Your promise to never leave nor forsake us; and we will persevere in growing closer to You daily – through Your Word, worship and prayer. We want to grow in our relationship with You.
Thank You that we can know that You are our Father. Thank You that You are there. Lord, I pray that we will all take a moment today to seek You, to seek Your presence. We know that we can come and lay everything – the burdens, the mountains we face – at Your feet, and ask You for direction. Lord, we ask You to again give us hope, because You are the only hope.
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father – the creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from His glorious unlimited resources He will empower each one of us with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in our hearts as we trust in Him. Lord, may we have the power to understand as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep Your love is. May each one of us experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then we will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from You our Father God. All glory to You God. You are able through Your mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. All glory to You Lord, in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever, and ever. Amen.
Amen.
