Earnest prayers have great power…

Read:

James 5:16 (AMP): “Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God – it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]”.

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:
Hold fast to the power of prayer. We may not know what the impact of our prayers are; but we should remain intentional about responding to the promptings of the Holy Spirit – to pray not only for ourselves but also for those in need:

 – Our God is the great Physician, Jehovah-Rapha, the One who heals (Psalm 30:2). So, let us never miss an opportunity to pray for healing (spiritual, emotional or physical), because “For our God nothing is impossible” (Luke 1:37).
– Our Heavenly Father is the God of restoration, of peace and love. So, may we ask God to show us any bitter roots that have grown in our hearts. Let’s allow Him to restore our broken relationships, heal our hurting hearts, forgive us where we have offended others, and draw us closer to Him as we submit to Him completely (Hebrews 12:14-15).
– Our God is good, He is always there, He is waiting, and He is willing (Psalm 65:11). So, may we never cease trusting God’s goodness, kindness and faithfulness, and His open ear to our prayers. He hears our cries and cares for us deeply. So, let us cast all our anxieties, worries and concerns onto Him (1 Peter 5:6-7). Let us pray for His will and His glory in our lives! Let’s proclaim the goodness and faithfulness of our Lord and Saviour everywhere we go.

Pray:

Father, I want to come and thank You for who You are. Thank You that You are a good-good Father. Thank You for Your goodness and thank You for Your provision for every one of us. We just want to give You all the praise that you are our Father and You know exactly what each one of our needs are. Thank You that You are a good Father and for Your provision for everyone. Thank You that we can just give You praise for Your greatness, for Your goodness, for Your abundance. And Father thank You that we will utter Your greatness and goodness every day of our lives. (Martie)

Lord, I’d like to pray today for the doctors and nurses who are treating patients during this COVID-19 pandemic. There are so many people in hospital, who are relying on them. I pray that You give those doctors and nurses strength, and knowledge and that You give them the wisdom they need. We’d also pray for the patients that are in hospital, because we know that it is Your breath in their lungs that is going to heal them. It is Your breath and Your being in them, that is going to show them that You are the great Physician. (Larvika)

Father, I understand that sometimes it’s not so easy to deal with hurt, anger and offence. But what I know is that when we submit to Your will, when we allow ourselves to become a channel of Your love, You are able to help us in any situation to let go. I pray dear Lord for anyone who may be going through a situation right now where they have been hurt, where someone has said something that has really been hurtful. I pray that You would deal with it and that You help them to leave it and let it go. I pray that You help us to forgive and clear our hearts, so that You will be able to use us and bless us. (Grace)

Father God, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, we thank You for this most powerful few minutes together. Thank You that we could come together in unity – where You will command a blessing, God. But Lord, I pray that You examine our hearts. Find those places where we have hidden, because we are scared to ask again… because we have been disappointed, we’ve been hurt, and life has not unfolded the way we wanted it to. Maybe we have prayed, and things did not happen in the timing that we wanted. God, I pray that You once again ignite a boldness in us to approach Your throne boldly, knowing that You have good intentions for us. Stir us again with a faith that You want to answer our prayer, that You want to have Your goodness, provision and Your healing and Your faithfulness to be seen in our lives. (Tanya)

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation”. (Psalm 91) Amen. (Lydia)

Amen.
