Seek God First!

Read:

Lamentations 3:22-26 (ESV): “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:
Be still and know that God is in control of our lives.
– His love and compassion never fail (Lamentations 3:22).
– He promises us that when we draw near to Him, he will come near to us (James 4:8).
– When we seek Him wholeheartedly, we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
– He is our everlasting hope, the One we can depend on (Romans 15:13).
– He is our shield of protection as we put our faith in Him (Psalm 3:3-5).
– He listens to our prayers and answers us when we call out to Him (Psalm 66:16-20).
So, may we seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness above all else (Matthew 6:33). May we quieten our hearts in the presence of our Lord, listening to His still voice directing our every step. As we do so, may God open doors and reveal Himself to us in new ways. It is in His presence that our HOPE is renewed, and our FAITH strengthened.

Pray:

Heavenly Father. Thank you that we can come together from all over the world to
pray to you. Thank you that You are constant, even when everything else changes. Thank you for carrying us through the storms we are facing right now. We can know that You’re always beside us. Help us to quieten our hearts and become still to hear your voice. I know you can give us all the time we need to sit down and have a coffee with you. (Welmarie)

O Lord, I believe You that You are our God almighty, our El Shaddai, our Adonai, Jehovah Jira, Jehovah Raphe, our everything. You are the Alpha, the Omega, the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent One. God, even if we speak out all Your names, it’s not enough to say how amazing You are to us, or how much You love Your people. We were called by You, even before we knew You. Before we could deserve anything, You gave everything to us – You loved us God! And You have plans… as Your Word says in Jeremiah, You have good plans for us. Help us to remind ourselves that Your Word says that You are the good Shepherd, that You are our Lord who goes before us, and that it’s You who will fight for us. You are our Creator, our Saviour, our Rescuer and our everything. If we have You, we do not need anything else. (Kassima)

Dear Lord, I want to pray for each and every person that is listening today. You know their hearts, You know where they are at. I want to ask that You would truly bless them – so that they can see You; and believe You; and so that they can take up their shield when they need to or when someone around them needs it! (Annel)

Heavenly Father, thank You so much that You didn’t just give us Your Word; You also gave us this wonderful opportunity to have a conversation with You… to approach You in prayer. We never want to take that for granted. It is incredible to think that we can reach out and speak to the Creator of the universe. I pray that this will never become something that we take for granted. And I pray that You would help us to understand and be reminded afresh that prayer and our prayer life takes shape over time. This is something that we need to be patient about. We need to continually invest in this extended conversation with You, Father. I pray as we seek You in prayer, that You would draw us close to You… ever closer, every single day. (Heinz)

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your
believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope. Amen. (Suria)

Amen.

(This WRAP is with great appreciation towards Suria, Welmarie, Annel, Kassima and Heinz)
