GOD HAS SET US FREE FROM OURSELVES STANDING UNITED IN PRAYER EASTER WORSHIP CELEBRATION

“If you grasp and cling to life on your terms, you’ll lose it, but if you let that life go, you’ll get life on God’s terms.”

Luke 17:33 (MSG)

This year, instead of getting caught up in the rush, may we focus on finding rest in Christ's presence, allowing Him to renew our hearts and fill us with peace.

Let's get closer to God by incorporating solitude, silence, prayer, worship and fellowship into our daily lives.

HANDOUT

DAY 1

GOD HAS SET US FREE FROM OUR PAST MISTAKES

Walk in His Forgiveness

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 (NIV)

Reflection

Guilt and shame over past mistakes can weigh us down, making us feel unworthy of God's grace. We replay our failures, believing they define us, but God offers redemption and new beginnings. Yet, one of the hardest things to do is forgive ourselves—we hold on to what God has already released. True freedom comes when we accept His forgiveness, extend that same grace to ourselves, and step into the new life He has prepared for us. When we trust in His mercy, we can move forward without the chains of regret, knowing we are fully loved and restored.

Daily Rhythm

If guilt over past mistakes still lingers, bring it before God in prayer. Confess them honestly, holding onto the promise of 1 John 1:9, and choose to believe in His forgiveness. Take a practical step today—whether it’s seeking reconciliation, letting go of shame, or embracing the new path God has set before you. Learn to walk in His freedom.

DAY 2

GOD HAS SET US FREE FROM OUR FEARS

Replace Fear with Faith

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Reflection

Fear keeps us captive by making us believe that the unknown is unsafe and that we must take matters into our own hands. Whether it’s fear of failure, rejection, or the future, it can paralyse us and keep us from trusting in God’s plan. Yet, Scripture reminds us that God has given us a sound mind—one grounded in God’s truth, enabling us to think clearly, make wise choices, and resist the lies of fear. A sound mind is at peace, anchored in faith rather than driven by anxiety. When we shift our focus from fear to faith, we find freedom in knowing that God is our protector and provider, guiding our steps with love and wisdom.

Daily Rhythm

Whenever fear creeps in, replace it with a promise from Scripture. Write down 2 Timothy 1:7 and speak it over your heart whenever anxiety arises. Ask God for the courage to step forward in faith, knowing that He goes before you and holds your future securely in His hands.

DAY 3

GOD HAS SET US FREE FROM OUR OWN UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

Find Freedom in His Grace

You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased and delighted!
Mark 1:11 (AMP)

Reflection

We often imprison ourselves with unrealistic expectations—whether from society, others, or even ourselves. We weigh ourselves down with the need to prove our worth and meet impossible standards. The pressure to meet these demands can leave us feeling exhausted and unworthy. Yet, God never placed these burdens upon us. True freedom comes when we surrender our need for approval to God and embrace the truth that our worth is found in Him alone. So, let us release the burdens we were never meant to carry and walk in the grace and acceptance God freely gives.

Daily Rhythm

Take time to reflect on the expectations you’ve placed on yourself. Are they aligned with God’s truth or driven by worldly pressures? Surrender them in prayer, asking God to help you rest in His grace rather than striving for approval. Trust that He has already declared you worthy in Christ.

DAY 4

GOD HAS SET US FREE FROM OUR NEED FOR CONTROL

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 (AMP)

Reflection

Trying to control every outcome leads to frustration, anxiety and disappointment when things don’t go as planned. It’s difficult to surrender control because it requires us to let go of our own understanding and trust in what we cannot see. We fear the unknown, worrying that things won’t unfold as we hoped. Yet, we were never meant to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders—God calls us to trust Him instead. When we surrender control to God, we find peace in His perfect timing and greater purpose, knowing that He sees the bigger picture and is working all things together for our good.

Daily Rhythm

Identify one area where you are trying to control the outcome. Pray and intentionally release it to God, trusting His wisdom over your own. Keep a journal of how He provides and guides, reminding yourself that His plans are always greater.
