EASTER WORSHIP CELEBRATION ’24
Welcome to our special week of prayer, praise and worship as we reflect on God’s grace and forgiveness, which deliver us from sin and grant us the privilege of becoming holy vessels – all to the glory of our King.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Day 1: GOD RAISES YOU UP FOR HIS GLORY, NOT YOURS
with Jaco Smit
Jaco reminds us that through the power of our Lord, we can experience renewal and revival. Our lives can be transformed from despair into hope, death into life, and the grave into flourishing gardens.
We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Romans 6:4 (NIV)
Day 2: BORN AGAIN, SPIRIT FILLED, PURIFIED
with Bruwer Malan
Bruwer reminds us that God’s purification process removes everything in our lives that is not aligned with His will. This process helps us to reveal our true identity as children of God and allows us to be led by His Spirit. Being co-heirs with Christ, we can step into the freedom of being transformed and growing in our faith.
It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].
Galatians 5:1 (AMP)
Day 3: INDESCRIBABLE
with Lemarque Sadler
Lemarque encourages us to worship our Lord, our God of creation – the One unmatched in splendour and sovereignty. May we be overwhelmed by a sense of wonder and reverence that arises when we contemplate the magnificent power and glory of our God!
Praise be to You, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is Yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
You are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from You;
You are the ruler of all things.
In Your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give You thanks,
and praise Your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:10-13 (NIV)
Day 4: THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS
with Gerdie Duvenage
Gerdie reminds us of the profound privilege we have to honour our Lord! It’s amazing to think about the grace and love He has shown us by dying for our sins and rising again to bring new life. His sacrifice has purified us and set us on the path to fulfilling the destiny He has planned for us.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
