Alive with Christ: When Grace Becomes Greater than the Life We Left Behind

Read:

Ephesians 2:4–5 (NIV): “Because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ.”

John 14:6 (NIV): “I am the way and the truth and the life.”

John 10:10 (NIV): “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Stop striving and start receiving. The life Christ offers cannot be earned. It can only be received. Grace is not a reward for the strong. It is a gift for the surrendered.

Live from what Christ has done. Too often we focus on who we used to be. God focuses on who we are becoming. Our past may explain us, but Christ now defines us.

Refuse to let fear trouble our hearts. Jesus spoke peace to troubled hearts before He changed circumstances. His presence remains our confidence today. Hope grows when our hearts become anchored in Christ rather than circumstances.

Walk in step with the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead now dwells within every believer. We were not saved merely for Heaven someday. We were empowered to live differently today. The Christian life is not self-improvement. It is Christ living His life through us.

Choose life daily. Every day presents a choice. Fear or faith. Striving or surrender. Self-reliance or dependence on God. Life flourishes wherever Jesus is welcomed. Abundant life is not found in having more. It is found in living a God-first life.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Thank You that when we were dead in our sin, You did not leave us there. Through Your grace, mercy, and great love, You made us alive in You. Forgive us for the times we return to old ways of thinking, old fears, and old patterns of striving. Teach us to live from Your finished work rather than our own effort. Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Strengthen us where we are weak. Encourage us where we are weary. And help us walk daily in the life You purchased for us.

May our hearts be anchored in Your love, our minds renewed by Your truth, and our lives marked by the hope found only in You.

Because You live, we have hope.
Because You live, we have life.
Because You live, we can walk forward in grace.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen.

Remember: Jesus did not come merely to make life better. He came to make us alive. So let us stop living beneath what Christ died to give us. Walk in His grace. Walk in His Spirit. Walk in His life. Because those who are alive in Christ no longer live from survival, but from resurrection.
