Created In God’s Image: Living from Identity

Read:

Genesis 1:27 (NIV): “So God created mankind in His own image… male and female He created them.”

Psalm 8:5 (NIV): “You have crowned them with glory and honour.”

Colossians 3:10 (NIV): “…put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Start from identity, not performance. We do not earn identity. We live from it. We are not trying to become valuable; we were created with value out of love. And everything flows from there.

Reject distorted versions of identity. The world will try to define us. By success. By failure. By comparison. By past experiences. But none of these is our source. Our identity is not formed by the world, it is established by God.

Reflect God in how we live. To be made in His image is not just a statement of worth. It is a calling. To reflect His character. His love. His truth. We reveal God not just by what we say, but by how we live.

Allow God to restore what has been distorted. Sin does not remove God’s image, but it distorts it. And this is why Jesus came. Not just to forgive, but to restore. In Christ, we are being renewed into who we were always meant to be.

Live intentionally as a reflection of God. Every moment becomes an opportunity. In how we respond. How we speak. How we lead. How we love. Remember: We carry something of God, so let it be seen.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You that our identity begins with You. Not in what we have done, but in how You created us. Forgive us for every place we have defined ourselves by things that are not true. By performance. By comparison. By fear. And today, we return to Your truth. That we are created in Your image. Restore what has been distorted. Renew what has been weakened. Realign our hearts with who You say we are. Teach us to live from identity, not striving for it. And shape our lives so that we reflect You more clearly. In our words. In our actions. In our daily lives.

We fix our eyes on You, Jesus—the perfect image of the invisible God.

Amen.

 Remember: We were fearfully and wonderfully made. We are not trying to reflect God. We were designed to. So let us live from it, walk in it and reflect Him in everything. Because the world does not just need what you do, it needs who we are in Him.
