Clothed in Goodness and Kindness!

Read:

Proverbs 31:12 (ESV): “She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.”
Proverbs 31:26 (ESV): “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

Act:

This week, let us “put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience”
(Colossians 3:12):

Our life goal is to pursue God and lead others to Jesus. May we treat others with kindness God’s kindness – so that they want what we have in our lives. May we become channels of blessing, dispensing gracious words and actions that can’t help but demonstrate the gospel of Christ. May we clothe ourselves daily with kindness, patience and compassion, so that God’s goodness and faithfulness can shine through our lives!

As we shine God’s humility into our world, may we leave any judging to Jesus, and simply love those He puts in our path. When it is our turn to stand before God, He will never ask us about someone else’s sin, or how they lived their lives! Let us always live our lives in a manner pleasing to God – walking as Jesus walked, and loving others the way God loves us. Remember, to please God, it is never about ‘who‘ we are or ‘what‘ we do. His grace and acceptance are not based on our performance or deeds, but on God’s character and His perfect nature and plan for us. The moment we accept God’s gift of Salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, we too become His beloved sons and daughters, with whom He is well pleased.

As we seek God above all else, and His will above our own plans, we can trust that He is working and present in the here and now. It’s not about our situation but about our hearts being transformed, and our minds gaining a renewed perspective. So even though… (and you can fill in the blank), I will choose to REJOICE IN THE LORD! Just as Habakkuk said… “EVEN THOUGH the fig tree does not blossom. And there is no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive fails. And the fields produce no food. Though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls… Yet I will [choose to] REJOICE in the Lord; I will [choose to] SHOUT in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet. And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility].” (Habakkuk 3:17-19 (AMP))

Let us anchor our lives in the Lord’s promises to us. He will rebuild, recover and restore our lives. May we be faithful in the waiting, showing His kindness and goodness to all who put their trust in Him and rejoice, even though…

Pray:

Heavenly Holy Father, You are good, and You do good. We know that all goodness resides with You, and that without You, we have no capacity for goodness whatsoever. Please help us Lord, to sincerely desire the happiness of others. Please grant us the goodness required to advance their happiness, so that You may be glorified. In Jesus Christ, our Lord, we pray.

Our precious Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, our true vine. We come before You, Lord, and ask that You help us stay rooted in You. Help us to become the Kingdom-children that You want us to be, that You created us to be. You handpicked every one of us as one would pick a bunch of grapes: a grape from a bunch. Thank You Lord that You called us each by name. You have a purpose for each of us – a divine purpose and plan for each of our lives. I ask that You would help us to open our hearts, and that we would allow You to prune us and to work in our hearts. Would you show us how we are behaving in non-ideal circumstances, and how we are dealing with things when we’re in a storm? What are our perceptions and opinions, and what are our words? Do we have the mind of Christ, or do we live according to the world? We thank You, Lord, for this blessed day. We thank You that You are our vine dresser, that You work in our hearts. We praise You, Lord. Help us to bear Kingdom fruit – all for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray this.

Lord, we are so thankful for Your Word. Thank You for the encouragement of Your Word in times of our lives when we feel weak and hopeless, Lord. Your Word today is that there will come a day when You will intervene. There will come a day when our Lord will rebuild, recover and restore us. Restore us spiritually Lord. We are not in exile anymore because there was a cross – a cross on the hill of Calvary. We thank You Lord Jesus for Your cross. We thank You for Your blood shed for us. We thank You for that which You did for us. And now Lord, we can look into the future with eyes of hope. We want to dance to the melody of faith for tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow. Thank You that I can bless all these wonderful people around the world, Lord bless them! You know what they need, Lord. You know how many times they may feel hopeless. Provide hope for them Lord, because our hope is in You. We bless You, and we thank You, Lord Jesus. In Your name.

God, thank You so much that You’re looking upon all of us today. We’ve not yet performed all the miracles, we’ve not yet done everything we want to do for You. Yet already You’re so pleased with us. We appreciate this Lord, we love You for it. Remind us of this. We’re so thankful for it.

Father God, please help us to seek You and Your will in every situation and circumstance, regardless of our disappointment, feelings or opinions. Your will is perfect. Your Story is greater than ours can ever be outside of You, and Your love and creativity are unfathomable. Merely help us to see You. Amen.
