Trusting God in the unknown
Read:
Matthew 1:19-21 (NLT): Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
Act:
During this wonderful advent period, let us remember:
We can trust God in the midst of adversity and doubt. Joseph was a faithful man and obeyed the Laws of God. When Joseph discovered his bride-to-be to be pregnant, he decided he could not accept Mary as his wife. BUT God showed up and reassured Joseph that this was His will and His plan; so just like Mary, Joseph mercifully decided to trust God and faithfully obey.
Will you trust God and obey His will and plan for your life, even if it goes against culturally accepted norms, and when it’s hard to understand why or how?
Pray:
Father God, please help us to see our sometimes-difficult situations or struggles from Your perspective! Help us to seek You before making choices that could keep us out of Your perfect plan for us! Help us to trust You and faithfully obey You in all we do.
Amen.
