God is faithful!
Read:
Psalm 89:8 (AMP): “O Lord God of hosts, who is like You, O mighty Lord? Your faithfulness surrounds You [as an intrinsic, unchangeable part of Your very being]”.
Act:
Let us be determined this week to believe that GOD IS FAITHFUL:
The word FAITHFUL implies loyalty and truth, something dependable, constant, fully devoted, dedicated or committed, steadfast and firm, certain, sure, honest, established, trustworthy, unmovable, reliable, dependable, and the list goes on. God is who He says He is and does what He says He will do (Numbers 23:19). He is dependable, steadfast and trustworthy – God is faithful! We are therefore assured that He wants the best for us; He hears our prayers and He is faithful about doing what He has promised (Hebrews 10:23).
The Bible teaches us that God’s faithfulness is established – so we don’t have to doubt it. We can confidently put our trust in Him (Psalm 89:2). His faithfulness is also unfailing – as we are reminded in Psalm 89:33 (AMP): “Nevertheless, I will not break off My loving-kindness from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail”. It’s infinite and everlasting, it has above all created things and stretches over all eternity (Psalm 36:5 and Psalm 146:6).
So let’s know, without any doubt, that our Lord God is God, the faithful God, who keeps His promises and pours His loving-kindness out on us, His children (Deuteronomy 7:9 paraphrased).
Let’s believe wholeheartedly that God’s faithfulness enables us to:
Trust in His plan, purpose and will for our lives (Isaiah 25:1).
Become all He created us to be – God establishes and blesses us according to His riches (Psalm 89:2).
Have hope and an expectation of eternal life – Trust in God is what gives us hope so we can deal with challenging circumstances; and enables us to keep our focus on the goal set before us (Psalm 36:5 and Psalm 146:6).
Rely on His protection – God places us on a firm foundation and guards our lives (2 Thessalonians 3:3).
Have fellowship with Jesus – Jesus is the One through whom our sins are forgiven (1 John 1:9) and through whom all God’s promises are fulfilled (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Pray:
Father God, thank You that You are our secure foundation. Your faithfulness is great and beyond measure! Thank You that You are reliable, trustworthy and ever true to Your promises. Thank You that we can depend on You. How great is Your faithfulness! Thank You that You are always there to help us, protect us and establish us. Thank You that Your faithfulness gives us strength and hope for a glorious future. We depend on You! All praise, honour and glory to Your name! Amen.
