Amazing grace…
Read:
1 Corinthians 15:10 (AMP): “But by the [remarkable] grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not without effect. In fact, I worked harder than all of the apostles, though it was not I, but the grace of God [His unmerited favour and blessing which was] with me”.
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Know that we are rescued by God’s amazing grace. How often are we crippled by bondage and shame when we consider certain things we have said or done… or the pain and hurt we have caused through our actions… things that happened in our pasts… or our sinful needs and wants? God stepped in and took our failures and weaknesses, and gave us the greatest gift ever. Jesus came to save us – to put us into right standing with our Father God and to open our eyes to see Him. He helps us to understand His extravagant love poured onto us and to recognise His undeserved mercy and blessing in our lives. He enables us to live free, hopeful, abundant lives based on His amazing grace. Let’s wholeheartedly know and believe that God’s grace is sufficient for any doubts, fears, weaknesses, confusion, hurt, pain, sin or any other situation we may be facing.
Believe that we are who we are because of God’s amazing grace. The world, culture, our families, work, success, failures, weaknesses, shame, etc. do not define who we are. By the remarkable grace of God, we are who He says we are. He, as our Creator, is the one who determined our value (even before we were born), and Jesus paid an immeasurable price for us to live free and happy lives! We therefore, together with Paul, can proclaim today: “But by the unmerited grace of God, I am what I am”.
Say yes to God’s invitation to be amazing grace-filled vessels to the people around us. We need to understand that who we are is ultimately defined by Whose we are… meaning if we accept God’s greatest gift – Jesus – as our Saviour and accept His generous grace-gift daily, we are to tell others about it. We are to empty our vessels (ourselves) for God to pour His love, grace, hope, light and Spirit into us so that we, empowered by the Holy Spirit, can go out and proclaim the Good News to all the world! He equips us to show grace towards others. He enables us to help others experience His unfailing love, His goodness, His provision, His faithfulness, His might and holiness. We just need to put Him first and seek Him and His will with all our hearts.
Pray:
Father God, Your amazing grace transcends our understanding. Before we even knew we needed it, You saved us. You freed us and opened our eyes to see – to see Your truth! Your grace taught our hearts about forgiveness, freedom, love and hope. Let Your grace lead us to do the work You established for us. Let our lives display Your grace, love and light to all around us. Today we say: “Yes Lord, here we are, perhaps sometimes lost or as broken vessels, but through Your amazing grace, we are who You say we are – use us for your Kingdom work”. We are dependent on Your grace, today and every day, and for the rest of our lives. Amen.
