Standing in victory

Read:

2 Chronicles 20:17 (NIV): “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you”.

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Trust God through our battles. The battle belongs to God. Since we know that our Father God is in control, stronger than anything that comes against us and trustworthy as a good-good Father – let’s seek Him first when we are faced with a battle. Let’s turn to Jesus, and keep our eyes focused on Him. Let’s seek His advice and instruction, place our hope in His winning power, and believe that He has gone before us to defeat the enemy. In and through Him we stand in victory – before we even enter the battlefield.

Stand firm in our TRUST and OBEDIENCE to our Lord! We serve a faithful and dependable Lord. He is our deliverer and saviour. We therefore do not have to be afraid when the enemy attacks us. Because the Lord is fighting on our behalf, we can hold our ground. We can stand firm, be still, trust Him and watch as He brings deliverance (Exodus 14:13-14).

Play our part. Our Lord does ask of us to be prepared for battle and play our part in the greater story of salvation. We cannot do it alone; but our Father God has given us all we need to stay strong and fight the good fight of faith! He has given us His Word as an indispensable weapon. His Word guides us to apply truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation to any battle that we face. Prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Let’s be alert, let’s be prepared, let’s be committed to study and apply God’s Word to our battles. Let’s be diligent and passionate to pray, and to trust our Lord for the victory!

Pray:

Father God, thank You that we do not have to be afraid or waver in any battlefield situation. Jesus, thank You for going ahead of us, for fighting the battle so that we can stand in victory because of You. Help us to listen carefully to Your instructions and to play our part based on the guidelines we find in Your Word. Help us to stand firm against all of our spiritual enemies! We want to glorify Your name in all we do! Thank You that we can go out boldly and face any situation, because You are with us! Jesus, thank You that we can live victorious lives because of You. In Your mighty name we pray. Amen.
