Leaving the past behind

Read:

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV): “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Leave the past behind. What is holding you back? Are you stuck in the past and is it holding you captive? Our Father God is saying to you today: “Forget about what has happened; stop dwelling in the past, look ahead to what is in front of you!” (Philippians 3:13)

Step up and move forward. Our Lord is calling us to rise above our circumstances and limitations. He can and will do the impossible in and through us. We do not have to be afraid. Jesus is taking us by the hand and leading us. Wherever God leads us, He has already prepared the way for us to get there.

See and respond. Let’s open ourselves for our Lord to plant His dream in our hearts. Let’s walk in obedience to His call. Let’s leave the past behind and move forward to the amazing new things our Father has in store for us.

Trust and hope in our Lord. Can you see the new thing that is ahead of you? You can trust our dependable, steady Lord. He is faithful. Take hold of the promises He has spoken to you. Step into the new!

Pray:

Father God, we don’t want to dwell in the past. We want to step up and embrace the new things you are planning for us. We don’t want to be afraid, because we know that for You all things are possible. Give us the strength to step into all You have planned for us. Jesus, take us by the hand and please lead us step by step. Thank you for giving us hope, a promise and a future! We praise Your holy name. Amen.
