A Heavenly perspective …

Read:

Colossians 3:2 (MSG): “So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:
Have a different and renewed view. Many times, we get absorbed by the things right in front of us, and we hang on to old ways of responding that may no longer be working for us. Let us run to God (our Strong Tower) and ask Him to give us a different and new perspective on the situation around us. Let us use this time to boldly ask God for a revelation on what He wants us to do differently. Let us ask Him to give us wisdom to approach things from an eternal, heavenly perspective and to respond in new and fresh ways.
Ask God to help us live from His extravagant love and show generosity towards others. Let us persist in drawing energy and strength from our One True Vine, Jesus Christ – so that we can bear fruit that will encourage and help those around us. Let us not be stingy with what God has entrusted to us – let’s rather show our gratitude through generous offerings. Let’s be reminded, especially during this time, that our generosity to those around us can lead people straight into the arms of Jesus!
Practice perseverance, persistence and patience during this time… It’s so easy to get frustrated or lose hope as we sometimes feel stuck in this difficult season. But God promises us in His Word, that when we patiently wait upon Him, the outcome will surely come (Habakkuk 2:3). Let us persevere through this time, as we patiently wait on God for answers, wisdom and His outcome; let us persistently seek to abide and rest in His presence and life-giving Word.

Pray:

Lord, we all find this current situation challenging. It’s new, it’s strange, it’s not easy to deal with, but God we come to You today. We lay it at Your feet. We say, please help us to approach these things from a different perspective. Help us to shift our focus; help us to shift our perspective on what’s happening around us. Lord, I pray that You’ll enable us, that You will strengthen us through Your Spirit. As You begin to do so, may we consider the practical implications for our lives. (Heinz)

Father God, I pray that You would start realigning our hearts to who You are, and that You will speak to us from that place. I pray that we will come to understand Your Word on a deeper level. I pray for the new wine that You want to show us Father God. Show us how to do things anew Lord, and to not mix the new with the old, because the two can’t go together. I pray that we find purpose in where we are right now, and that we also understand Your way forward. Father would You help us to really recognize what You are asking us to do. (Tarryn)

We praise You as a generous God and an extravagant Giver. You are so extravagant that You didn’t hold anything back, not even Your own son. Jesus, thank You that you gave Yourself, that You poured Yourself out – to show us that LOVE is in the giving. LIFE is in the giving. Holy Spirit lead us in generous giving. We long to give of ourselves: our testimonies, our knowledge, our wealth, our everything in this time of need, scarcity and fear. Show us and help us to give, so that all the praise will go to You Father. May this inspire others to give and may it ignite passionate prayer. (Barbara-Mari)

Lord, I pray for perseverance. I pray that we don’t get stuck in the mud – getting pulled down, but that we push through – so that we can make it to the end. I pray for persistence: let us persist in the Word, let us persist in prayer, let us persist in being true to Your character, and let us persist in going out to help people and spread the Word. I also pray for patience, because that’s the thing we need the most now. Will You help us quieten our hearts – so that we can understand that we have to wait on You. You know what is best for us. (Monique)

Our Father in heaven, we bless Your name. You are Holy and You are worthy of our lives, of all our worship. May the glory of Your name be the center around which our lives turn. Father, manifest Your Kingdom realm and cause Your every purpose to be fulfilled on the earth, just as it is in heaven. We trust in Your sovereign power; we acknowledge You as the provider of all we need each day. You Yourself said we cannot live by bread alone, but from every Word that comes from the Father’s mouth. So would You provide us with Your revelation and Word for this specific time, Lord. Father forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us… even where we may feel angry in this time and find it difficult to forgive those responsible for this situation. Father, remind us of how You have forgiven us and paid the highest price for this broken world. Lord, rescue us every time we face tribulation, very much like now, and set us free from evil. Holy Spirit, we pray for a holy dissatisfaction and disgust for everything that is not of You. You are the King who rules with power and glory forever. Help us to remain and rest in You, and You in us, so that we can bear great fruit for Your Kingdom sake. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. (Laura)

Amen.
