More of Him, Less of Me

Read:

John 3:30 (ESV): “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Let go of control. May we release the need to manage every outcome and trust that God’s way is higher, wiser, and better—even when we can’t see the full picture yet.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” (Proverbs 3:5)

Lay down our pride. Let’s recognise that our worth isn’t found in what we accomplish, but in being loved by the One who made us.
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)

Stop seeking our own glory. May we choose to lift high the Name of Jesus—not just when people are watching, but especially when no one notices.
“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:31)

Pursue God’s will over our own. Let us prioritise God’s Word, His Spirit and His call, even when it leads us to uncomfortable or unfamiliar places.
“Not my will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)

Cultivate a servant heart. Like Jesus, may we take the lower place, not from weakness but from the freedom to love and serve without needing applause.“Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant.” (Matthew 20:26)

Experience lasting peace. As we trust, we receive a peace that surpasses understanding—a calm rooted not in ease, but in surrender.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)

Become who we were always meant to be. As we surrender to God’s transforming work within us, we are not diminished—we are transformed. We begin to fear God’s name, reflect His character, live out our purpose, and step fully into the joy of our true identity in Christ.
For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” (Romans 8:29)

Pray:

Lord, thank You for Your Word. Thank You for the promise of Your presence. Thank You for the high price, Jesus, that You paid so that the Holy Spirit could be released to each one of us. I pray, Father, that You will stir in our hearts those moments where we’re leaving You behind. And that we’ll be careful with the presence of God. Thank You, that the presence of God is a beautiful and powerful thing. Help us, Lord, to decrease so that there may be more of You in our lives.

Abba, I know that what Yeshua did was all for us. And for the first time in my life the bruising and the piercing and the chastisement became real. Thank You for that.

Dear Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, we are truly humbled when we acknowledge that we are carrying Your image and we were made in Your likeness. Oh Lord, help us to be filled with this appreciation and with gratitude that You have made us in Your likeness. Thank You, Lord for all Your love, all Your grace, all Your mercy that You have put into us. We were truly fearfully and wonderfully made by You, God, in Your image and likeness. So, search us, Oh God , and know our hearts, try us and know our anxieties, and see if there is any wicked way in us, and Lord, lead us then on the way everlasting. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
