Living by Faith
Read:
Hebrews 11:1 (ESV): “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
1 Corinthians 13:12 (ESV): “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Trust in God’s character. Faith begins with knowing who God is. He is good, just and unchanging. His plans for us are always for our ultimate good and His glory.
Deepen our relationship with God. Faith grows as we spend time with God in prayer, worship and in His Word. Let us prioritise these moments of intimacy with Him, allowing His truths to renew our minds, inspire trust in His promises, and lead us to follow Him wholeheartedly.
Walk by faith, not by sight. Faith often requires us to step into the unknown and obey without fully understanding the outcomes. Let us courageously move forward, relying on God’s love, guidance, strength and provision.
Share our faith with others. Faith is not meant to be hidden; it thrives in community. May we boldly proclaim the hope we have in Christ, inspiring others to trust in Him and experience His life-transforming peace and purpose.
Pray:
Lord, we want to thank You that we can trust You with everything in us, that You’re a good, loving, faithful God and that You’re our commander, and that You make our lives count, even if we don’t understand a bit of it.
Jesus, thank You for teaching us about faith. Thank You. Thank You for teaching us about patience and allowing You to time the things in our lives and the world around us. Despite our needs and despite our urgencies about certain things.
Father, You call Yourself, “Father.” You choose to relate to us as Father. And therefore, we must be Your children. And I don’t think we’re teenage children. I think You want us to live like little children, living in the moment, not worrying for the future, with no regret for the past. Totally dependent on You.
So Father, we come to You, You are our God. We want to know You. We want to believe and trust in You so that our faith is built upon Your very own character.
Oh Lord Jesus, in our hearts of hearts, You know we long to trust You; we long to have faith in You for every detail of our lives. Help us to see not only the signs that have shown us throughout history of Your great love and Your plan for us but also help us to live in faith, trusting and obeying You. You alone are worthy of our faith and our trust. Thank you for Your patient love, may we learn to trust you more and more. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
