Grounded in Jesus!
Read:
Romans 15:13 (NIV): “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Commit our ways to the Lord. We are chosen and loved by God, and through Jesus we are adopted into the family of God. We are free from condemnation, saved through grace, and delivered from our sins to receive salvation and eternal hope! Often we think, that we need to DO something… to be a “good Christian.” However, GRACE is a gift! Submission is an act of worship. In our obedience and submission to God, let us:
– Not fret or worry; BUT trust in the Lord;
– Do good – always and to everyone;
– Delight in the Lord;
– Commit our ways to the Lord;
– Rest in the Lord;
– Cease from Anger;
– Pray like never before;
– Depart from evil;
– Believe that for our God, nothing is impossible;
– Stay faithful; and
– Ask Jesus, our saviour, to be Lord over our lives.
Abide in Jesus. Jesus is the Source that sustains us! This is all about TRUST, an act of obedient surrender to Christ. Peace and joy flow from a place of trust in God. When we abide in Him, we can bear the fruit of HOPE, LOVE, GRACE, KINDNESS and PEACE – because apart from Him “we can do nothing” (John 15:5). It’s all about letting go of self and continuously submitting to Jesus!
Fight the good fight of faith. Let us remember that EVERYDAY we can walk in truth, righteousness, wisdom, peace, faith and trust – knowing that our Father God is on our side. He is cheering us on as we remain in Him and commit our ways to Him! We are truly clothed and protected by His loving kindness and grace.
Pray:
Jesus, we thank You so much that You are so good and You’re so faithful. You have so much that You freely give. You never ever withhold joy, peace and hope from us. All You ask us to do is position ourselves in Your presence. You ask us to trust in You and in Your name, Your blood and Your love. And as we do that God, would You respond by filling us with Your joy, and Your peace so that we would be filled to overflowing. May we in turn immerse others in the hope that You have freely given us through Your Son Jesus.
Father, thank You so much for the blessings that You have lavished upon us in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our hearts are so excited. We are so filled with joy at the thought that You have prepared this awesome inheritance for us in heaven. This inheritance is Jesus. All our blessings are in Him, and He is our greatest blessing. Please help us to grow in our knowledge of You.
Father, I ask that You will be with all of us in these days that lie ahead and that we will attempt to put these things into practice. A lot of them are not easy Lord. It doesn’t come naturally to us, to wait, and to commit and see. We want to do things our own way. I ask that You will be with us, and that through Your Holy Spirit, You will help us to do the right things. Above all Lord, we thank You for the grace that You have shown to us.
Heavenly Father, the One who was, who is and the great I Am. We will rejoice and be glad today Lord, because Your grace, Your peace, and Your love are with us. May the words we speak today in silence bring credit to the name of Jesus Christ. We submit our worries to You today Lord. We place them in Your hands. May the blessings of Your protection be with our friends and their families.
Lord Jesus, as we gather here today, spiritual battles are going on all around us. They are going on in our minds, in relationships with family and friends, in the world around us, in governments, through storms of nature, and battles of disease. Lord, on our own we have no power to withstand the evil attacks. But with You, and with the armour You have given us, we can stand. May we constantly remember, that we can only stand as we cloth ourselves in the armour that You have given us: The belt of truth; The breastplate of righteousness; Shoes prepared with the Gospel; The shield of Faith; The helmet of salvation; the Sword of the Spirit, and the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God. May we daily spend time before You, putting on our armour, and thanking You for every provision that You have given us. Lord, when the spiritual battles rage around us, may we be ready soldiers, clothed in Your armour. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
Amen.
