W@W WRAP – Week 404

Rooted in God's Rest! – We live in a world that values busyness, where worth is based on productivity, and our identity is found in achievements rather than in our relationship with God. However, God desires for us to live countercultural lives in a performance-driven world and invites us to be rooted in His rest. His design isn't for us to run endlessly, but to pause, be still, surrender control, and trust in His care and provision. Rest is an act of faith, a time to find peace in God's presence, to let go of the need to prove ourselves, and to embrace our identity as His beloved children. In resting, we create space to hear God's voice, restore our souls, and rediscover life's deeper meaning. (Genesis 2:2–3 & Exodus 20:8–11)

W@W WRAP – Week 403

Surrender, Trust and Lean on our Lord! – Are you facing an impossible situation, or do you feel overwhelmed by fear of the future? Instead of relying on our own strength, let us allow God's wisdom and guidance to lead us. As we are reminded in Psalm 37:3–7 (AMP): "Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good... Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord... Be still before the Lord; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him." May we surrender every area of our lives to our Lord, trust Him to lead us according to His perfect plan, and lean on His strength and direction in all we do! (Proverbs 3:5–7)

W@W WRAP – Week 399

Within Reach of God’s Loving Touch! – In Mark 5:25–34, we meet a woman suffering from a chronic bleeding condition for twelve years. This not only caused her immense physical pain but also completely isolated her from her community. Despite seeking help from many doctors without success, her steadfast faith led her to believe that touching Jesus’ garment would bring healing. Her trust in Jesus resulted in a miraculous cure, and Jesus affirmed her faith, saying, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” This story reminds us that God is the only answer to whatever we need. So, may we remain close to Jesus, and approach Him with unwavering faith, confident that as we keep our eyes focused on Him, He will offer us healing, restoration, joy and peace. (Mark 5:25–29)

W@W WRAP – Week 366

Fuelled by Jesus’ Love in 2024! – A ‘love story’ has been written that reaches from eternity to eternity. This story begins with, "In the beginning God" and ends with the affirmation that our Lord, the Great I Am, the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, and the Bright Morning Star is not only coming soon again, but is with us always! This story is about our Father in Heaven's amazing and unconditional love towards us, His creation. His love is so great and deep that He gave us His perfect and gracious Son, our Prince of Peace, the Light of this World, the Way, the Truth, and the Life so that we may be part of ‘the greatest love story’ ever written. As we turn the pages and allow God to write our 2024 chapters, may each word, emotion, action, pause, doubt and thought be fuelled by Jesus' LOVE for us! (Isaiah 43:1-2 & Romans 5:8)

W@W WRAP – Week 365

Our Father in Heaven, please guide our steps in 2024… – As we approach the end of 2023 and look forward to a new year, I would like to propose some questions for us to consider. How have you impacted and influenced the lives of others this year through God's guidance? How can you make yourself more available to pursue your calling and make a difference in the new year? What needs has God met for you this year? How has He been faithful to you in the past, and how does that strengthen your expectations for what is to come? Do you feel optimistic about the future, or do you have some doubts and a touch of despondency? What disciplines, habits, attitudes and practices will you continue, and which ones do you need to let go of? The list could go on, but most importantly, let us remember that even though we may reflect on 2023 and plan for 2024, God ultimately determines, directs and establishes our every step. (Proverbs 3:5-6 & 16:9)

W@W WRAP – Week 344

Who Reigns Supreme in Your Life? – As we look at the world around us, there appear to be many 'supreme rulers' of people's lives… power, money, big houses, flashy cars, fame, expensive jewellery, 'likes' on social media, the latest fashions, and the list goes on. What about you? Who, or what, reigns supreme in your life? May we draw closer and closer to God and allow Him to transform our hearts, minds and souls with a deep and renewed understanding of who He is. This will enable us to stand victorious against the storms of life, serve as co-workers in God's Kingdom, respect and value each other, and live differently as we honour and glorify the King of our hearts! (Matthew 22:37)

W@W WRAP – Week 343

Giving Thanks to our Lord Always! – How often are we intentionally grateful for the things and people in our lives? Are we able to give thanks even during times of struggle and doubt? Our Lord tells us that in Him there is life, grace and strength, even on days when we don't understand what is going on. By recommitting our lives to Him and seeking a closer relationship with Him, we can find comfort, rest and joy. It's His breath that gives us life, so may we pour out our praises and glorify our Father in Heaven, now and always! (Psalm 100:4 & 1 Thessalonians 5:18)

W@W WRAP – Week 340

Light in the Darkness… Have you ever experienced a power outage at your home or your business? It can be a frustrating and disorienting experience, especially at night when everything goes pitch black. Many in South Africa and other parts of the world endure power cuts daily, so others can have electricity. This is a great reminder of our spiritual calling to shine our lights in the darkness that is so prevalent in today's world. May we be a people who live and walk in the light of Jesus, and who lead others out of darkness and into the loving, gracious arms of our faithful Heavenly Father. (James 1:17)

W@W WRAP – Week 339

Where does my help come from? – Do you ever run into challenges and feel like you have nowhere to turn? While family and friends are a wonderful source of strength and wisdom, they are also frail – and often in need themselves. Where then shall we look? May our first response always be to look to our Lord, Who tells us over and over again in His Word that He will be our help, if we will but ask. He has all the strength, power, wisdom and love we need. We can always count on Him and He is only a prayer away. (Psalm 27:1-5)
